A new organization for mobile journalists (MoJo) and multimedia reporters working in Cox’s Bazar, named the Cox’s Bazar Multimedia Reporters’ Association, has been officially launched.
On Wednesday (March 12) evening, following a meeting at the association’s temporary office at Sagar Gaon Hotel in the city, a 45-member committee was announced with the unanimous consent of all present. The committee will serve for the next two years.
Muhibullah Muhib was elected president, and Tarek Haidar was named general secretary. Asifuzzaman Sazin (NTV Online) was appointed organizing secretary.
The vice presidents include Saiful Afridi, Asraf Bin Yousuf, Abdur Rashid Manik, and Antar Dey Bishal. The joint general secretaries are Mohammad Morshed, Mishu Das Gupta (Kaler Kantho Digital), Saidul Islam Farhad (Dhaka Post), and Ashhab Chowdhury Ocean (TBS).
Faisal Riyad, Shahed Hossain Mubin, Sazon Barua Saju, and Ibrahim Khalil were appointed as assistant organizing secretaries.
Rajin Saleh of Cox’s Bazar Life was named the publicity secretary, with Wahed Hossain Amir as his deputy. Riyaz Uddin Riyad was the finance secretary, assisted by Sarwar Sakib. Ayachul Alam Sifat was named the sports secretary, and Salauddin was the assistant sports and cultural secretary. Joy Baidya was appointed the science and technology secretary, while Mir Anir (Naya Diganta Digital) took charge of hospitality.
Other key positions include Yasin Arafat as the office secretary, Azima Akter Ima as the women’s affairs secretary, and Fatema Siraj as her deputy. Afzara Riya was named the environment affairs secretary.
Siam Sohel, Shamimul Islam Faisal, Noman Arup (NTV Online), Sarwar Sakib, Sazon Barua, Nabila, Hridi, and Maisha named as executive members where Muktadil Joy, Saidur Rahman Shimul, Tanim Chowdhury, Arif, Riduwaan Sohag, Rikon Barua, Raju Das, Anasul Haque, and Saidul Afnan named as general members.
Abul Kashem (NTV Online, Kutubdia), Shawkat Islam (Kaler Kantho Digital, Ramu), Rokiyat Ullah (Kaler Kantho, Maheshkhali), Shamimul Islam Faisal (Ukhiya), Noman Arup (NTV Online, Teknaf), Saiful Saif (Chakaria), and Abu Bakkar (Eidgaon) were named as upazilla representatives.
