Cox’s Bazar has recorded a total of 112 millimetres of rainfall in the past 24 hours, with continuous rain still ongoing.

According to Mohammad Abdul Hannan, assistant meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, the district is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rain over the next 72 hours due to the active southwest monsoon.

He noted that the recorded rainfall from yesterday until this afternoon has already reached 112 mm, and the number may increase further in the coming hours.

Meanwhile, due to deteriorating weather, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued Signal No. 3 for maritime ports, including Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Mongla, and Payra. Fishing boats and trawlers over the northern Bay of Bengal have been asked to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
