Cox’s Bazar has recorded a total of 146 millimetres of rainfall over the past 24 hours, with 80 millimetres recorded between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. today. Heavy rain continues to lash the district.

Mohammad Abdul Hannan, Assistant Meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, said heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the coming days. He noted that the recorded rainfall since yesterday until noon today stands at 146 millimeters and could increase further as rain continues.

Meanwhile, due to the active southwest monsoon, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Mongla, and Payra seaports to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 3. Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
