Cox’s Bazar has recorded its lowest temperature of the current winter, with the mercury dropping to 17.2 degrees Celsius on Friday morning (December 26), the lowest so far this year.
Abdul Hannan, Assistant Meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, confirmed the information. He said the minimum temperature in the district was recorded at 17.2°C on Friday morning, marking the lowest temperature of the ongoing winter.
He added that the current cold spell may continue for another 2 to 3 days, during which the cold is likely to intensify, particularly at night and early morning.
Meanwhile, the sudden drop in temperature has intensified cold weather in Cox’s Bazar, especially in the mornings and evenings. Authorities have advised people—particularly children and the elderly—to remain cautious amid the colder conditions.
