Master mason Mohammad Abdur Rahim (40) has turned fishing in the Reju Canal of Naikhongchari into his daily morning routine.

Every day, from dawn to noon, Rahim devotes himself to fishing, a passion he holds dear.

He catches a variety of fish, including tangra, white datina (goldsilk seabream), batasi, and other freshwater species, bringing in about 1 to 1.5 kilograms each day.

After setting aside a portion for his family, he sells the rest at Court Bazar.

According to Rahim, larger fish can fetch up to Tk1,000 per kilogram, while smaller ones sell for around Tk400 to Tk500.
