Dhaka International FolkFest, Asia’s largest folk music festival, resumes after a four-year break.
According to Sun Communication, the festival’s organizer, the sixth edition will be held on January 23-25 at the army stadium.
The folk festival was first held in 2015, with 500 artists from 17 countries participating. It was held in the following years but has remained suspended since 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic broke out.
The organizer said Dhaka International FolkFest celebrates sheer musical brilliance, where myriads of folk artists from home and abroad perform on a single platform.
Although there has been no word on the artists, fans hope the program will be more flamboyant and the lineup will include new faces.
