Diva Organization, the largest network of women entrepreneurs in Cox’s Bazar, has launched the Eid Mehendi Festival, a special three-day event celebrating the festive spirit of Eid. The festival is at Coxiana premises near Laboni Point from March 28 to 30.
Twenty mehendi artists are participating in the event, adorning the hands of festival-goers with intricate and beautiful henna designs.
Naushaba Moktar Siam, the founding director of Diva Organization, shared that they have been organizing this festival for the past six years. “Our primary goal is to empower women by creating entrepreneurial and employment opportunities. Through this festival, local mehendi artists not only showcase their skills but also gain financial benefits,” she said.
Women in Cox’s Bazar have enthusiastically received the initiative. Organizers have expressed their commitment to continuing such events in the future, aiming further to strengthen women’s economic independence in the region.
