St. Martin’s Island is facing a growing crisis as stray dogs suffer and die from severe food shortages. Inadequate waste management and a lack of food sources have created a dire situation for the island’s canine population.

According to locals, the dogs rely heavily on leftover food and waste discarded by residents and tourists. However, these sources have become scarce, leaving the animals with little to survive on.

The crisis has worsened, with many dogs growing increasingly weak and succumbing to starvation. Vulnerable groups, such as puppies and sick dogs, are the worst affected.

The situation poses a threat to the dogs and a potential disruption to the island’s ecological balance. Food scarcity and the dogs’ subsequent deaths could have long-term consequences for the local environment and biodiversity.
