The Bay of Bengal has become turbulent due to a deep depression. Red warning flags have been hoisted at various points along the beach. The local administration has taken this decision considering the safety of tourists. Moreover, the Meteorological Department has hoisted cautionary signal no. 3 for the seaports.

Despite warnings, some tourists attempted to swim in the sea; however, the tourist police, lifeguards, and beach workers prevented this. Using loudspeakers, whistles, and bamboo horns, they are urging tourists to leave the water.

The tourist police stated that the safety of tourists is their top priority. Strict vigilance is ongoing to ensure no one enters the sea until the weather normalizes.

The meteorological department has warned that the low-pressure system may cause strong winds over coastal areas and the sea will remain rough for several more days. During this period, boats and fishing trawlers are advised to stay safely near the coast.
