Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of the interim government said the world needs to work together to fight plastic contamination.
She also said that they have an opportunity to push together for an ambitious Global Plastics Treaty and they need to work together on Biodiversity conservation and protection of traditional knowledge.
She was speaking at the Ministerial Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) at Astana of Republic of Kazakhstan on Wednesday.
She said that to value shared waters and develop an equitable regime for protection and utilization are equally crucial.
“In addressing all these challenges, there is an abundance of technology, innovation and human capital that we must tap into and share to the benefit of our peoples,” she added saying that by working together within CICA, it is possible to contribute towards the sustainable and a zero-carbon future.
