To facilitate homebound travelers during the holy Eid-ul-Azha, authorities have announced an additional Sea-Truck trip on the Cox’s Bazar-Maheshkhali waterway.
Md. Khairuzzaman, Assistant Director at BIWTA’s Cox’s Bazar River Port (Kasturaghat) Branch, confirmed the arrangement. “As per the UNO’s recommendation, a special Eid Sea-Truck trip will operate tomorrow,” he said. “The Maheshkhali-to-Cox’s Bazar trip will depart at 2:30 PM, while the Cox’s Bazar-to-Maheshkhali trip will depart at 3:30 PM.”
He added, “The regular schedule will remain unchanged. We urge passengers not to board overloaded vessels and to avoid littering the river with polythene, chips packets, or other waste. We wish everyone a safe and pleasant Eid journey.”
The regular Sea-Truck schedule is as follows;
From Maheshkhali to Cox’s Bazar:
• 1st Trip: 7:00 AM
• 2nd Trip: 11:00 AM
• 3rd Trip: 5:00 PM
• Special Eid Trip: 2:30 PM
From Cox’s Bazar to Maheshkhali:
• 1st Trip: 8:30 AM
• 2nd Trip: 12:00 PM
• 3rd Trip: 6:00 PM
The local administration hopes this initiative will bring relief to travelers heading home or visiting loved ones during the festive season.
