Babul and his 13-year-old son, Abdur Rahim, earn their livelihood by collecting shrimp fry from the shores of Cox’s Bazar’s Sonar Para Beach.
For over five years, Babul has been engaged in this work, which requires both patience and dedication.
Every day, the father-son duo walks into the sea to gather shrimp fry, which they sell to local hatcheries, earning around Tk 350 daily.
Babul said that collecting fry is a time-consuming process, often requiring hours of careful work, and his son has become an essential helping hand.
