The Cox’s Bazar District Administration and Department of Social Services have distributed financial aid cheques among individuals needing medical assistance, meritorious students, and victims of natural disasters.

The cheque distribution ceremony took Tuesday at the Arunoday School premises, where Tk7 lakh was disbursed among 174 beneficiaries. The funds were allocated from the 2024–2025 fiscal year budget and unused funds from the 2023–2024 fiscal year under the District Social Welfare Committee.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Nizam Uddin Ahmed attended the event as the chief guest.

Hasan Masud, Deputy Director of the District Social Services Office, presided over the event. Others included Moazzem Hossain, Deputy Director of the Youth Development Department; Ahsanul Haque, District Children Affairs Officer; Assistant Directors of the Social Services Office, Shafiuddin Safi and Md. Abdul Awal; Dr. Saiduzzaman Majumder, Consultant at the Disability Services and Assistance Center; and Jesmin Akter, Deputy Project Director of the Integrated Child Rehabilitation Center.

The initiative reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable and marginalized communities in Cox’s Bazar.
