After days of rough weather, thousands of fishermen along the Cox’s Bazar coast are setting out to sea once again. Although light rain has continued over the past few days, the weather has largely stabilized, bringing relief to the fishing communities. With renewed hope, they are venturing back into the ocean, chasing new dreams.

Speaking at the Fishery Ghat, several fishermen shared that, following the 58-day fishing ban, they continued to face challenges due to adverse weather and warning signals, often returning empty-handed. “Those days were tough as we had no income and struggled to get by,” one fisherman said.

Now, with the sea calm once more, they are setting sail with hopes of bringing back nets full of hilsa and other marine fish, ready to rebuild their lives and livelihoods.
