It is peak fishing season in the Bay of Bengal, with thousands of fishermen venturing into the sea to catch fish. Even during Ramadan, Cox’s Bazar Fishery Ghat remains bustling with activity as fishermen and traders work tirelessly. Hundreds of fishing trawlers dock at the ghat daily, unloading various marine fish, including the prized hilsa.

The increased seafood supply has dropped fish prices in Cox’s Bazar. Since the beginning of Ramadan, local markets have been offering a diverse range of fresh marine fish. The Fishery Ghat is also brimming with seafood, driving a thriving trade as buyers and sellers engage in lively transactions.
