The five-day Muktijuddher Bijoy Mela-2025 has begun at Shaheed Daulat Maidan in Cox’s Bazar. The traditional event, organised to mark the Great Victory Day, will continue from December 17 to December 21.
As every year, the fair has been organized by the Bijoy Mela Celebration Committee to present the spirit, history, and sacrifices of the Liberation War and its heroic freedom fighters to the next generation.
The fair has already instilled a festive atmosphere throughout the city. Shaheed Daulat Maidan now boasts a main stage and several exhibition stalls. This year, 20 cultural organisations from Cox’s Bazar are participating in the event, presenting music, dance, drama, mass songs, recitations, and patriotic performances highlighting the history and ideals of the Liberation War.
Freedom fighters officially inaugurated the fair at 4:00 pm on December 17. Organisers said launching the Victory Fair through the hands of the heroic freedom fighters would remain a lasting source of inspiration for the younger generation.
Ashraful Huda Siddiqui Jamshed, chairman of the Liberation War Victory Fair Celebration Committee, said all preparations had been completed to ensure the fair’s success.
“The Victory Fair is not just a celebration; it is an important initiative to preserve the history of the Liberation War and pass it on to future generations,” he added.
