The Satyen Sen Shilpigoshthi, Cox’s Bazar District Chapter, recently organized a four-day workshop on Bharatanatyam dance and classical music. The event, held from December 20 to 23 at Saikat Balika High School, featured over 100 participants eager to learn and immerse themselves in the rich traditions of music and dance.

Renowned singer, composer, and music director Yusuf Ahmed Khan conducted classical and Nazrul music training during the workshop. Golam Mostafa Bobby, the director of Nrityabritti Dhaka, led the Bharatanatyam dance lessons.

Mohammad Khurshid Alam, the President of Satyen Sen Shilpigoshthi, presided over the event, which began with the national anthem. Monir Mobarak, the organization’s General Secretary, hosted the inaugural session, where Subimal Pal Panna, President of the District Khelaghar, attended as the chief guest.

Monir Mobarak explained the workshop’s purpose, stating, “Our goal is to nurture and promote pure cultural practices while fostering an interest in music and dance. Through this initiative, we aim to provide a foundational understanding of these art forms and inspire participants to delve deeper into them.”
