Sonadia Island, a remote and underserved area in Maheshkhali, recently witnessed a significant health initiative by the youth organization Rokter Bondhon. To mark its second anniversary, the group organized a free blood camp, offering essential health services such as blood group determination, diabetes testing, and blood pressure measurement to the local community.
Known for its limited access to healthcare, Sonadia often faces challenges in meeting basic health needs. Understanding this, the organizers aimed to provide vital medical services directly to the island’s residents, helping them become more aware of their health and the importance of preventive care.
Faisal Amin, president of Rokter Bondhon, who spearheaded the initiative, remarked, “Health is the greatest wealth. Our organization is committed to serving the community, and we plan to continue such initiatives in the future.”
Locals from various professions and backgrounds participated in the event. Organizers expressed their desire to expand future initiatives to reach more residents of Sonadia and provide even broader healthcare support.
