The supply of fresh tuna is rising at Cox’s Bazar Fishery Ghat as the winter season sets in.

Tuna caught from the deep sea arrive at the jetty before dawn, unloaded directly onto the trawlers lined up along the ghat.

Moments later, the bustling transactions between buyers and sellers begin.

Fish traders say the price of tuna varies by size, ranging from Tk 350 to Tk 500 per kilogram.

According to traders, tuna is enjoying strong demand in the market.

Hotels, restaurants, and local buyers are all seeking fresh tuna, enabling fishermen to secure fair prices.

As a result, the Fishery Ghat has become increasingly vibrant, and the fishermen are visibly pleased.

Fishermen report that favourable weather this season has made deep-sea trips relatively safer, contributing to an increased supply of tuna.

Buyers, on the other hand, say that nowhere else can they find the same freshness and quality as the tuna purchased directly from the ghat.
