Mismanagement has become a glaring issue in the busy streets and market areas of Cox’s Bazar. Recent images show large garbage accumulating by the roadside, containing construction debris, plastic waste, torn bags, and old cement sacks. This waste damages the city’s appearance and poses serious health risks to residents and passersby.

Local shopkeepers complain that the garbage piles disrupt business by deterring customers. The foul odor from the waste makes running shops and food stalls nearby tricky. Moreover, sharp objects and plastic debris in the waste increase the risk of accidents, especially for children and pedestrians.

Residents are urging the Cox’s Bazar municipality to take more proactive measures. They demand regular waste removal, installation of proper garbage bins, and awareness campaigns to encourage responsible waste disposal. They also call for strict action against those who dump trash in unauthorized areas.

As Cox’s Bazar is one of the country’s top tourist destinations, keeping the city clean and beautiful is crucial. Swift action from the authorities will relieve residents and ensure a more pleasant experience for tourists.
