Gas emerged from underground while workers drilled a tube well in Inani, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, on Tuesday, and it subsequently caught fire, drawing residents’ attention.
The incident occurred while a tube well was being installed in the courtyard of Mostafa Sikder’s house in the Chhoto Inani area on October 27.
According to local sources, gas began escaping from underground during the drilling work, followed by visible flames.
Fire service personnel arrived after being informed of the incident.
Authorities could not immediately confirm the gas’s nature or source.
