Surrounded by sea, Adinath Temple is the lone major sightseeing spot on Maheshkhali Island, drawing tourists throughout the year.It is believed that Adinath originated during the Treta Yuga, the temple’s significance is recorded in Hindu scriptures, including the Ramayana and Puranas.Located atop Mainak Hill, 288 feet above sea level, the temple measures 10.87 meters in length, 8.62 meters in width, and 5.93 meters in height.An official of the Maheshkhali upazila administration told Cox’s Bazar Life that efforts are underway to preserve the temple’s rich history, with renovations currently in progress.
