Weekends in Cox’s Bazar feel like a festival. On Friday, thousands of tourists have thronged the world’s longest sea beach, filling its most popular spots—Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni—with a festive buzz.
Alongside tourists from distant districts, many locals have also headed to the sandy shores with their families to enjoy the holiday.
Every stretch of the beach offered a vibrant scene—people strolling along the shoreline, rushing toward the waves, or capturing memories with their cameras. The shouts of children mixed with the laughter of youths sipping coconut water as they rode beach floats, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Yet amid the joy, there were reminders to stay cautious. Red flags flew throughout the day at Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni points, signaling that the waves were slightly rougher than usual. Lifeguards urged visitors to remain careful, though many still played gleefully in the surf.
The Meteorological Department confirmed that there was no official weather warning, describing the conditions as normal seasonal. Still, safety personnel advised caution for those venturing into the water.
For many who spend their week caught up in the hustle of work, Cox’s Bazar offers a breath of relief. With its stunning scenery, the roar of the sea, and the touch of endless breeze, the city transforms into a true holiday haven.
