The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination scheduled for Saturday has been postponed in all five districts under the Chattogram Education Board due to floods and adverse weather.
The postponed examination was for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) subject.
The decision was announced on Friday in a notice signed by Chattogram Education Board Examination Controller Parvez Sazzad Chowdhury.
The suspension applies to all HSC candidates in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachhari. A revised schedule for the postponed examination will be announced later, the notice said.
Earlier, the board also postponed the HSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for July 8 because of the same situation.
Several areas of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and the Chattogram Hill Tracts have been inundated by days of heavy rainfall, while landslides have claimed at least 29 lives as of Thursday. The education board said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of examinees.
