The ICC Champions Trophy embarked on a unique cultural journey by being photographed on a traditional sampan boat at Cox’s Bazar, the world’s longest unbroken sea beach.
As part of its global tour, the prestigious trophy was displayed at the beach on Wednesday, December 11, with a photo session at 10 AM.
After the photo session, the public could view the trophy on an open stage near the Seabeach Conference Center “Urmi” at Laboni Point until 3 PM. Teams from RAB and the police enforced tight security measures, ensuring safety throughout the event.
The Seabeach Conference Center “Urmi” in Cox’s Bazar received the trophy on Tuesday, December 10, at 6:30 PM. The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Senior Manager of Media & Communications, Rabeen Imam, confirmed the event through an official statement.
He said that the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled for February-March in Pakistan, would visit participating countries as part of the promotional tour from December 9 to December 13 in Bangladesh.
Major Saiful Islam, Company Commander of RAB-15, stated, “A team of 30 RAB personnel is on duty for security. There is no security concern. Everyone is enjoying seeing the ICC Champions Trophy.”
Cricket enthusiasts in the capital can see the trophy up close at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in Dhaka on December 12 from 11 AM to 8 PM, following its display at Cox’s Bazar. On December 13, the trophy will move to the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, open for public viewing from 11 AM to 3 PM.
The exhibition will also welcome national men’s and women’s cricket teams, former and current players, officials, organizers, and media representatives before the trophy departs from Bangladesh.
