A joint supervision visit was organized to monitor the progress of the multi-sectoral nutrition program in Cox’s Bazar. Led by Dr Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Director General of the Bangladesh National Nutrition Council Office, the visit aimed to assess the ongoing efforts in the region. The Cox’s Bazar Civil Surgeon’s Office organized this initiative with support from Nutrition International’s “Adopting a Multisectoral Approach for Nutrition (AMAN)” project.
On Wednesday, November 13, the team visited Khurushkul High School in Sadar Upazila at 11:30 a.m., where they observed an adolescent health and nutrition program focused on improving the nutritional status of teenage girls. Officials monitored the weekly distribution of iron-folic acid tablets to boost adolescent health.
Following this, a courtyard meeting with local dairy farmers occurred at Jagirpara in Eidgaon. Officials advised the farmers on nutrition and health awareness and listened to their success stories and challenges.
The visit also included critical discussions on the difficulties in implementing nutrition programs locally and potential future solutions.
