In the thrilling final of the Zara Inter-District Badminton Tournament, the KBC duo of Iqbal and Naim clinched the championship title in the Open Doubles category. The duo defeated All-Star Mohin and Abdullah in a closely contested match, winning 2-1 sets at the Zara Convention Hall on February 23rd.
Naim was named the Man of the Match and the Man of the Series for his outstanding performance.
Arif and Nafis of Cox Star-2 emerged victorious in the B Category Doubles final, overcoming KBC’s Rubel and Tamim. Nafis was awarded the Man of the Match, while Arif was recognized as the Man of the Series.
The grand finale and prize distribution ceremony was graced by Nilufa Yasmin Chowdhury, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Cox’s Bazar Sadar, as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, she highlighted ongoing efforts to develop the sports sector in a structured and sustainable manner.
The event was presided over by Morshed Alam, President of Zara Badminton Club, and conducted by Aziz Russell, Vice President and a journalist. Special guests included Akhtar Chowdhury, Principal of Cox’s Bazar City College, Main Uddin Milky, Member Secretary of the District Sports Association, and other distinguished personalities.
Following the event, the guests presented trophies and awards to the champions and runners-up, marking a celebratory conclusion to the tournament.
