The 80-kilometer-long Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive is usually bustling with tourists, with its many scenic spots teeming with activity. However, with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, this otherwise vibrant coastal road now stands nearly deserted.
Since the beginning of Ramadan, many tourists have left the city, choosing to spend the sacred month in prayer and devotion at home. As a result, the once-crowded Marine Drive has turned eerily quiet.
A visit to the area reveals only a handful of local vehicles on the road, with barely any tourist jeeps in sight. The usual influx of visitors from outside the city has dwindled to almost nothing. Popular destinations along the route—such as Dariyanagar, Himchari, Inani, and Patuartek—now stand largely empty, their usual vibrancy replaced by an overwhelming sense of stillness.
