International Coffee Day Special

In celebration of International Coffee Day, Mermaid Coffee, operated by Mermaid Eco-Tourism Limited, stands out as a leading coffee destination in Cox’s Bazar.

Five coffee shops across the region and one in Barisal offer more than just high-quality coffee; they are shaping a new coffee culture in Bangladesh.

Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Executive Director of Mermaid Eco-Tourism Limited, explained that coffee is traditionally enjoyed while sitting and relaxing in Bangladesh. However, Mermaid is introducing the global “takeaway” trend by offering eco-friendly paper cups.

The company prides itself on sourcing premium coffee beans, using fresh milk, and employing skilled baristas with modern brewing equipment.

One such barista, Mohammad Mamun, the Head Barista at Mermaid Beach Resort, has become a beloved figure among customers. A Coffee Master trained by North End in Dhaka, Mamun takes great pride in the praise he receives from guests.

He joined Mermaid in 2018 and has since become a Coffee Master. He has a fanbase among the guests visiting Mermaid as they admire the coffee he brews.

The locations include Mermaid Café Chill and Grill at Sugandha Point by the beach, Mermaid Café Marine Drive in the Himchari block, Mermaid Beach Resort at Pechar Dwip, and Mermaid Eco Resort 2 km away by the Rezu Khal in Cox’s Bazar.

Outside Cox’s Bazar, Mermaid shops at Barishal, near Women’s College.
