Mohammad Salauddin, a retired Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Industries, has been appointed the Chairman of the Cox’s Bazar Development Authority (CoxDA) for a three-year term.
Hailing from Pahartali, Ward No. 7 of Cox’s Bazar town, Salauddin is the son of retired police officer Shamsul Huda. He completed his SSC from Cox’s Bazar Government High School and HSC from Chattogram College and obtained a postgraduate degree from Dhaka University. 1993 he joined the BCS Administration Cadre, beginning his civil service career.
The Public Administration Ministry issued an official notification confirming his appointment on Wednesday (February 12), signed by Deputy Secretary Abu Saleh Md. Mahfuzul Alam.
According to the notification, under Section 5 of the Cox’s Bazar Development Authority Act, 2016, Mohammad Salauddin has been appointed as the Chairman of CoxDA, with his post-retirement leave (PRL) and related benefits suspended. To assume his new role, he must resign from any other profession, business, or affiliation with government, semi-government, or private organizations.
