Ukhiya and Teknaf observed National Disaster Preparedness Day with various programs, including a colorful rally, a fire safety drill, a discussion session, and an award distribution ceremony.
In Ukhiya, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad hall room, presided over by Upazila Project Implementation Officer ATM Kawsar.
Assistant Commissioner (Land), Zarin Tasrin Tasin, attended as the chief guest. The event was attended by government officials, public representatives, development agency representatives, journalists, volunteers from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, and members of the Cyclone Preparedness Programme (CPP).
Meanwhile, in Teknaf, the Upazila Administration organized a discussion session at the Upazila Parishad Public Hall at noon.
The event was presided over by Upazila Social Services Officer Md. Khorshed Alam, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sheikh Ehsan Uddin as the chief guest. Government officials, local representatives, and other stakeholders were present at the event.
To commemorate the occasion, officials also reported that Moheshkhali and other upazilas held similar programs.
