Bangladesh Railway has announced the launch of two new pairs of trains, Saikat Express and Probal Express, on the Cox’s Bazar-Chattogram route starting February 1, 2025. This initiative aims to provide comfortable and safe travel for passengers and tourists in the region.

Kamal Akhtar Hossain, the Chief Operating Superintendent of the Railway Eastern Zone, issued a circular on Monday (January 20) stating that these trains will operate on Mondays with a weekly holiday.

Saikat Express (821) will depart Chattogram at 6:15 AM and arrive in Cox’s Bazar at 9:55 AM with stoppages including Sholashahar, Jangaliahat, Patiya, Dohazari, Satkania, Chakaria, Bhulhajara, and Ramu.

Probal Express (822) will depart Cox’s Bazar at 10:35 AM and arrive in Chattogram at 2:25 PM, including stoppages in Sholashahar, Gumdandi, Patiya, Dohazari, Satkania, Lohagara, Chakaria, Bhulhajara, Islamabad, and Ramu.

Moreover, Probal Express (823) will depart Chattogram at 3:10 PM and arrive in Cox’s Bazar at 7:00 PM. The same stops as Probal Express (822) and Saikat Express (824) will
depart Cox’s Bazar at 8:15 PM and arrive in Chattogram at 11:50 PM. The same stops as Saikat Express (821).

Gholam Rabbani, the station master of the iconic Cox’s Bazar Railway Station, confirmed the news to Cox’s Bazar Life. He mentioned that these new train services will significantly benefit locals and tourists.

Introducing these trains complements the existing non-stop intercity trains, Cox’s Bazar Express and Tourist Express, operating on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route. Residents and tourists have welcomed this development, expressing satisfaction with the enhanced connectivity and convenience.
