The new voter registration and photo collection process is underway as part of the Voter List Update Program 2024, and young people are enthusiastic about it.

According to election commission officials, the initiative aims to provide National Identity Cards (NIDs) and enlist eligible citizens in the voter list. Since morning, long queues of young men and women have been observed at union council offices and designated registration centers.

A first-time voter expressed excitement, saying, “Voting is a civic responsibility. This ID card is not only for casting votes but also essential for accessing various government services. I am happy to be registering today.”

The authorities have taken extraordinary measures to streamline the registration process, ensuring its completion through document submission and biometric data collection.

Local representatives and civic leaders view this enthusiasm positively, believing that young voters’ active participation will further strengthen democracy.

The Election Commission has assured that those who miss this registration window will have future opportunities to enroll. However, officials have urged eligible citizens to complete their registration on time.
