Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Cox’s Bazar district administration, has officially taken charge as the new administrator of Cox’s Bazar Municipality. He has also assumed the role of acting Deputy Director of the Local Government Division.
Outgoing administrator Rubaiya Afroz handed over responsibilities to Nizam Uddin Ahmed on the afternoon of August 13, as stated in a Public Administration Ministry circular issued on August 7 and a directive from the Deputy Commissioner’s office dated August 12.
In addition to his new role, Ahmed will also oversee the duties of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management), a position previously held by Afroz, while continuing to serve as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue).
Yesterday morning, municipal officials and staff welcomed the new administrator with a formal reception ceremony, accompanied by flowers.
