The Cox’s Bazar Salt and Seaweed Market Systems Development Project and the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities for Women and Youth in Cox’s Bazar (ISEC) project are organizing a series of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) training sessions for salt crushing mill workers and salt farmers.
Today marked the second day of the OSH training. Workers from the Salma Salt Crushing Mill and Senuara Salt Crushing Mill in the Islampur area under Eidgaon Upazila, the largest salt-crushing hub in Bangladesh, participated in today’s training.
The main objective of the training is to create safer and healthier workplaces in the salt industry, ensuring that workers can work in a secure and healthy environment.
Experts discussed various topics, including safety measures, health protection, and improving efficiency in the salt industry. It is hoped that such training will improve working conditions and enhance the quality of life for salt industry workers.
