As civilization advances, human lifestyles are constantly evolving. In this transformation, plastic has become an inseparable part of daily life—from brushing teeth in the morning to the last activity before bed. Due to its affordability and convenience, plastic products have swiftly gained widespread popularity, replacing traditional materials like glass, clay, and jute. From carry bags to food containers, medicine bottles to flower pots, plastic alternatives dominate nearly every aspect of modern consumption.

However, this reliance on plastic harms the environment and negatively impacts human well-being. The global focus is shifting toward plastic recycling—reducing new production and repurposing used plastics into reusable materials.

In Cox’s Bazar’s Nazirartek area, a young entrepreneur has embraced this sustainability drive. Jasim Uddin, 25, has taken the initiative to recycle plastic waste. He believes that to keep pace with developed nations, the government must prioritize the recycling sector alongside private initiatives.

With the correct policies and investments, plastic recycling could promote economic growth, job creation, and environmental protection.
