A large number of prayerers gathered at the historic Badr Mokam (RA) Mosque in Cox’s Bazar to observe the holy night of Shab-e-Barat, as devotees from different parts of the district and neighbouring areas began arriving in groups in the evening.
As the night progressed, the mosque premises and their surrounding areas became overcrowded.
Thousands of prayerers took part in voluntary prayers, recitation of the Holy Qur’an, zikr and special supplications, seeking forgiveness, mercy and blessings from Almighty Allah.
Many prayed for the forgiveness of sins and for the well-being of the country and the nation.
The mosque authorities said that special religious programmes had been arranged for Shab-e-Barat.
Following the Isha prayers, waz mahfils, voluntary worship, and munajat were held. Adequate lighting was ensured, and security measures were strengthened to facilitate worshippers throughout the night.
Worshippers said that Shab-e-Barat is a night of immense religious significance for Muslims, offering an opportunity to draw closer to Allah and seek deliverance from sins.
Many chose to observe the night at Badr Mokam Mosque due to its religious and historical importance.
Meanwhile, special prayers and religious programmes were also organised at mosques across Cox’s Bazar city.
Overall, the district observed the holy night of Shab-e-Barat in a solemn and reverent atmosphere.
