In preparation for the upcoming Victory Day celebrations in Cox’s Bazar, the district administration organized a meeting to ensure the day is observed with due respect and honor.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin presided over the meeting, which took place Tuesday morning in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The Additional Superintendent of Police Jashim Uddin Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner Yamin Hossain, district BNP President Md. Shahjahan Chowdhury, Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman, and leaders from various political parties addressed the gathering.
The meeting was attended by government and private organization officials, members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and individuals from diverse professions.
The event planning included raising the national flag, firing salutes at dawn, laying wreaths at the central Shaheed Minar, honoring freedom fighters, and organizing a victory fair featuring artwork and products from local entrepreneurs. Additional activities will include a painting competition and a cultural program.
A separate meeting was held earlier to organize Martyred Intellectuals Day, with plans for a floral tribute at the Shaheed Memorial, a discussion, candle-lighting, and other commemorative events.
