A large Burmese python that had entered a human settlement in Ukhiya was rescued and later released deep into the Thainkhali forest by the Forest Department.
The python, measuring 15 feet in length and weighing around 35 kilograms, was recovered yesterday from the Hatimora Bazar area of Rajapalong Union.
Ukhiya Range Officer Abdul Mannan said the python is essential in maintaining ecological balance and biodiversity.
