A rally, a tree-planting drive, and a sapling distribution programme were held in Ramu to mark International Youth Day 2026.
The programme was organised by the Youth Peace Ambassador Group in Ramu on Wednesday.
Mohammad Zahurul Islam, deputy director of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), Cox’s Bazar, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Members of the organisation and local youths took part in the rally organised to mark International Youth Day. A tree-planting and sapling distribution programme was held afterwards.
Highlighting the importance of tree planting in protecting the environment, Zahurul Islam said more trees should be planted to maintain ecological balance.
He also called on everyone to come forward to care for and protect the trees planted under such initiatives.
The organisers said the programme was organised to engage young people in environmental conservation and raise awareness among youths as part of the International Youth Day observance.
