During the holy month of Ramadan, many Muslims prefer breaking their fast with juicy fruits or refreshing fruit juices after a day-long fast. As a result, seasonal fruits such as watermelon, muskmelon, pineapple, and papaya are in high demand across Cox’s Bazar, from roadside stalls to fruit shops.

On Thursday (March 6), a visit to different city areas revealed a bustling scene, particularly at Goonagachhtala Mor, where vendors have filled the streets with piles of watermelons, muskmelons, and pineapples. Shoppers were seen crowding the stalls, engaging in price negotiations with sellers.

However, some buyers complained about high prices, while vendors defended the pricing, stating that they had to purchase the fruits at increased rates from suppliers.
