Cox’s Bazar proudly welcomed its national football star, Shaheda Akhter Ripa, as she returned to her hometown on Tuesday morning. Upon her arrival at Cox’s Bazar Airport, she was greeted with flowers and heartfelt congratulations.
Despite the absence of a formal reception, the presence of well-wishers made Ripa’s homecoming special. Harun-ur-Rashid, former joint secretary of the district sports association, along with sports organizer and journalist Syed Alam, sports enthusiast MC Fahim, and Anwar Kamal representing TUAK, joined a few admirers from Ripa’s locality to extend their warm wishes and floral greetings at the airport.
Ripa is a member of the Bangladesh National Women’s Football Team, which recently beat Nepal in the Final of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2024 and became the tournament champion for the second consecutive time.
