Save the Children launched Beyond the Darkness on Sunday with European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) support.
This coffee-table photo-story book highlights the strength and resilience of Rohingya children and their families.
Unveiled at Save the Children’s Cox’s Bazar Area Office, the book captures the hopes and dreams of a community that continues to endure one of the world’s most significant humanitarian crises.
The event brought together representatives from the European Commission, Save the Children, and implementing partners.
It marked eight years of partnership between ECHO and Save the Children in delivering education, child protection, and health services to Rohingya refugees and the host community.
“This book is a testament to the courage of children and families who have faced unimaginable hardship,” said Shumon Sengupta, Country Director of Save the Children in Bangladesh.
“It also reflects the tireless work of our teams and the solidarity of our partners at ECHO. We hope these stories inspire compassion and action worldwide,” he added.
Davide Zappa, Head of Office for ECHO in Bangladesh, said, “The European Commission has stood with Rohingya refugees since the start of this crisis.
Beyond the Darkness documents our achievements and reminds us of the urgent need to ensure dignity, safety, and opportunity for every child and family.”
Since 2017, the ECHO and Save the Children’s partnership has reached thousands with safe childbirth services, adolescent education, and child protection, strengthening community health systems and resilience in Cox’s Bazar.
Beyond the Darkness pays tribute to those who shared their stories and underscores the continued need for humanitarian action.
