Six Bangladeshi-origin candidates are running again in the US elections on Tuesday.

All six are incumbents in various state legislatures seeking re-election, Dhaka Tribune reported.

The candidates are Sheikh M Rahman (Georgia Senate District 5), Nabilah Islam (Georgia Senate District 7), Masudur Rahman (Connecticut Senate District 4), and Saddam Salim (Virginia Senate District 37), all Democrats.

Aboul Bashar Khan, a Republican, is seeking re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives from Rockingham District 20.

Dr Nuran Nabi, a Democratic councilman from Plainsboro Township, New Jersey, has held his position since 2007.

If re-elected, this will mark his fifth term.

He oversees cultural and heritage matters within the township council, which consists of a mayor and five council members.
