The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast that storms with maximum speeds of up to 80 km/h may pass over 10 regions of the country, including Dhaka. Additionally, the agency has indicated the possibility of storms with speeds of up to 60 km/h in other areas.
The weather forecast for the country’s inland river ports, valid until 1 AM on Friday (May 30), included this information.
According to the forecast, regions including Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet may experience temporary stormy winds blowing from the south-southeast direction at speeds of 60–80 km/h, accompanied by rainfall and thunderstorms. The inland river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist the No. 2 maritime warning signal.
Other parts of the country anticipate temporary gusty stormy winds, accompanied by rainfall and thunderstorms, blowing from the same direction at 45–60 km/h. Inland river ports in these areas have been instructed to display the No. 1 warning signal.
