A sudden heavy downpour swept across Cox’s Bazar on Monday (April 21), bringing much-needed relief to residents and tourists alike. The day began with bright sunshine, but by midday, dark clouds loomed over the city, followed by continuous rainfall across various parts of the town.
Over the past few days, Cox’s Bazar has witnessed a pattern of storms and rain, a dramatic shift from the long spell of scorching heat that had made daily life increasingly difficult. Weary from the oppressive temperatures, locals and tourists eagerly welcomed the rain.
Tourists at popular beach points like Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni were seen enjoying the unexpected shower, many embracing the rain as part of their beachside experience.
So far, no reports of waterlogging have been received.
According to the local meteorological office, the rainfall is influenced by a westerly low-pressure system and may continue. The weather is expected to remain unstable over the coming days.
