Among the many vines that enhance nature’s beauty, the golden vine (Swarnalata) stands out as one of the most captivating. In Cox’s Bazar, some locals refer to it as Aloklata or Sonali Lata. Once commonly found in the remote corners of villages, this medicinal parasitic plant has now become a rare sight.
However, the Swarnalata persists in enchanting the hilly regions of Cox’s Bazar. From a distance, it appears as if golden threads are draped over trees, shimmering under the sunlight. As winter transitions into the blossom-filled spring season, this vine adds a mesmerizing touch to the landscape.
Thriving as a parasitic plant, the Swarnalata takes root on live trees, drawing nourishment to sustain its delicate yet radiant existence.
