Three resorts were destroyed on St Martin’s Island in the early hours of Wednesday. A fire broke out and lasted more than an hour due to the absence of a local fire station.

At 4 a.m., the locals, Coast Guard, Navy, and Tourist Police managed to bring the fire under control.

Mujibur Rahman, chairman of Saint Martin’s Union Parishad, confirmed that no tourists or locals were harmed.

The fire erupted at a rubbish-burning site in the Galachipa area of the island’s west coast, according to the owner of Kingshuk Eco Resort. On short notice, the Beach Valley Eco Resort, six rooms of Kingshuk Eco Resort, and a section of Shayari Eco Resort were engulfed in fire.
