Dulahazara Safari Park in Chakaria has come alive with visitors during the Eid holidays. Tourists from across the country and locals are flocking to the park to witness its diverse wildlife, including rare and nearly extinct species, while enjoying the chirping melodies of birds. Park officials say approximately 40,000 visitors have explored the safari park since Eid day.
Range Officer, Md. Manzur Alam said the park authorities have enhanced its aesthetic appeal and strengthened security measures with the help of the Tourist Police to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for tourists throughout the nine-day holiday.
Located 47 kilometers north of Cox’s Bazar city, Dulahazara Safari Park is within a century-old garjan (ironwood) forest. Rare and endangered animals inside large enclosures, including lions and tigers, respond affectionately to their caretakers’ calls.
Tourists delight in watching these magnificent creatures roam, play, and roar in secure habitats.
The park officially opened in 1999 and was initially established as a deer breeding center in 1980. Spanning 900 hectares, it is Bangladesh’s first safari park and is home to a vast collection of trees, including numerous mother trees of the garjan species.
The entry fee for adults is set at Tk100, while children and teenagers can enter for Tk50.
