A two-day training program on child journalism, aimed at developing fundamental skills, concluded last Saturday in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. World Vision Bangladesh organized the event under its Child Safety Net Project.

The training began on Friday (March 7) at 10 AM at the Ukhiya Press Club conference room. Francis Mondol, Manager of the Child Safety Net Project at World Vision Bangladesh, presided over the inaugural session.

Prominent speakers at the event included Saroj Hubert Gregory, Advocacy Coordinator of the Child Safety Net Project in Maryland. Yasin Arafat, Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist; Michael Mondol, Mobilization and System Strengthening Officer; along with Mitu Sarker Papia, Shahnaz Parveen, Upazila Coordinator Choton Barua, and Ukhiya Press Club’s Member Secretary Faruk Ahmed.

The training covered key aspects of child journalism, including the importance of news reporting, information gathering, news writing, journalistic ethics, photography guidelines, and mobile graphics. Twenty-five young aspiring journalists participated in the program.
